Starting in 2015 Subaru redesigned the firewall location where the pitch mount is. Unfortunately this has led to a weak point that can develop a crack over time. Stiffer mounts, and hard driving can all play a factor in causing breakage, although even a bone stock car is not exempt from this issue.
Perrin saw this issue and came up with a fantastic solution. Their brace has a few benefits. One is it braces both sides of the stock mounting location to the firewall, thereby spreading the load. Second is it will also support the clutch master cylinder which is a nice added benefit since a heavier aftermarket clutch will put some extra strain on the firewall. Lastly, it will replace the stock rubber line to the clutch slave cylinder and replace it with a full stainless line. This is a must have for any 2015+ WRX or STI.
